Job summary

Qualifications

• No education required.
• Six (6) months of experience as a package handler or switching/CDL operator experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform trailer switches by hooking and moving a parked trailer from yard to a load/unload door.
• Coordinate trailer movements with management or central control.
• Document trailer moves using Yard Management System or switcher cards.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections on switcher equipment.
• Follow yard switching safety processes and procedures.
• Load and unload packages onto or from delivery vehicles, trailers, conveyor carts and load gratings.
• Sort packages by reading labels, numbers and charts.
• Contribute to other duties as assigned.
