Job summary

HD Supply in Kent, WA is seeking a Yard Switcher to operate a yard tractor, back trailers to loading docks, and assist with loading/unloading inventory. You will perform safety checks, document trailer moves, and coordinate with dock staff to keep shipments moving efficiently.

Eligible candidates must hold a current Class A or B CDL with hazmat endorsement, have 2+ years of FMCSA/DOT-compliant driving experience, and a clean MVR. Prior yard jockey experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Valid CDL with hazardous materials endorsement required.
• 2+ years of commercial driving experience per FMCSA/DOT.
• Strong safety mindset and ability to perform pre-trip inspections.

Responsibilities

• Transports trailers within the distribution center and moves them between docks.
• Performs DOT-required inspections and secures trailers.
• Couples/uncouples tractor trailers and connects brake lines as needed.
• Moves and organizes trailers to ensure efficient inventory flow.
• Documents trailer moves and refuels the switcher truck as necessary.
