Job summary

HD Supply is seeking a qualified switcher driver to operate a tractor-trailer yard in Kent, WA. The role involves backing trailers to docks, performing safety checks, opening bay doors, and assisting dock workers with loading and unloading inventory.

Selected candidates must hold a valid CDL with hazmat endorsement and have a clean MVR per FMCSA/DOT requirements; prior yard jockey experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Current Class A or B CDL with hazmat endorsement.
• 2+ years of commercial driving experience compliant with FMCSA and DOT regulations.
• No more than 2 minor accidents in the past 3 years.
• No more than 2 moving violations in the past 3 years.
• Prior yard jockey experience.

Responsibilities

• Transports trailers within a distribution center, moving trailers between shipping and receiving docks.
• Performs equipment inspections in accordance with DOT regulations and internal procedures.
• Couples and uncouples tractor trailer units, including brake lines as needed.
• Moves and organizes line haul trailers in the shipping yard for efficient inventory motion.
• Ensures trailers are ready for loading, unloading, and transport.
• Documents all trailer moves within the shipping yard.
• Refuels switcher truck when needed.
