Job summary

GFL Environmental in Byron Center, MI is seeking a CDL Vacuum Truck Operator to join our Vacuum Truck Services team. You will perform hydro excavation, line flushing, water hauling, and related tasks with a focus on safety, professionalism, and teamwork.

The role requires a CDL A/B with a clean driving record, 1 year of vacuum truck experience, and a tanker endorsement (or willingness to obtain). Travel and after-hours work may be needed as part of normal operations.

Qualifications

• CDL A or B with a clean driving record.
• 1 year of industrial vacuum truck and/or hydro-excavating experience.
• Must have tanker endorsement or willing to obtain within 30 days.
• Safety-first mindset and professional customer service.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate vacuum equipment in an industrial setting.
• Follow company policies, procedures, and on-site rules.
• Complete daily pre-trips and driver logs for NSC compliance.
• Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of work performed.
• Participate in safety programs and job hazard assessments.
• Work independently, manage time and productivity, and communicate effectively.
• Some short-term travel and overnight stays may be required.
