Job summary

Shenandoah in Fort Myers, FL is seeking a CDL Vac Truck Driver/Operator to join our underground utility construction team. You will operate vacuum trucks for hydro excavation, pipeline cleaning, and debris removal on rehabilitation projects, with a Class A CDL and overnight travel Sunday through Friday.

The role requires 3–5 years of road/utility driving experience, strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work safely in a crew.

Qualifications

• CDL Class A required.
• 3–5 years of commercial driving and vac truck operation.
• Underground utility construction experience required.
• Ability to travel and stay overnight (Sun–Fri).

Responsibilities

• Safely operate vacuum trucks for hydro excavation, pipeline cleaning, and debris removal.
• Perform daily vehicle inspections and routine maintenance checks.
• Assist with underground utility construction tasks on-site.
• Operate small tools and equipment (pumps, gas saws, compactors, backhoes, bobcats).
• Load and unload equipment and materials at job sites.
• Ensure compliance with DOT regulations and company safety standards.
• Maintain detailed logs of work performed, mileage, fuel, and equipment usage.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers, supervisors, and crew members.
