Job summary

Vortex Companies - Trenchless Infrastructure Solutions in Chesapeake, VA is seeking a Vactor Operator to drive and operate sewer-cleaning pump trucks, perform diagnostics and maintenance, and conduct pre-shift inspections.

Candidates must hold a CDL Class A or B with medical card, have safe driving history, and be willing to travel. The role offers a full-time schedule with variable shifts and pay between $22 and $32 per hour plus benefits.

Qualifications

• CDL license or equivalent certification.
• Past experience in the construction field is preferred.
• A record of safe vehicle operation.
• Successful completion of pre-employment background check and drug screen.

Your Responsibilities As a Vactor Operator

• Drive and operate sewer-cleaning pump trucks
• Perform general diagnostic and maintenance to waste systems
• Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner
• Conduct pre-shift vehicle inspection
• Performs laborer duties as needed to ensure a timely and quality job and carry out special projects as assigned
• Travel Required

What We Need From You (Our Requirements)

• CDL License, class A or B with medical card
• Previous experience working in the construction field
• A record of safe vehicle operation
• Possess a good driving record over the last 3 years and successful completion of a pre-employment background check, reference check, and drug screen.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time, non-exempt position. Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday and can include shift work, weekends, evenings, holidays - flexibility is required as job duties demand.

Salary Range

• $22.00- $32.00, depending on position qualifications, job related skills and experience, education, certifications, and geographic location.
