Job summary

Recent Jobs in Louisiana seeks an experienced adjunct instructor to lead tractor-trailer driving training, safety instruction, and vehicle inspections. You will monitor student progress, maintain records, and provide individualized coaching while fostering a professional learning environment.

Applicants should have at least 5 years of verifiable tractor-trailer driving experience, a valid CDL Class A, and the ability to communicate technical safety concepts to students.

Qualifications

• Must possess a clean driving record: no more than 2 driving offenses or accidents in past 2 years and no DUI in past 15 years.
• Must be physically able to operate motor vehicle, conduct vehicle inspections, and report mechanical and safety concerns.
• Must be at least 26 years of age.
• Ability to effectively communicate technical information and safe driving skills to students with varying levels of driving experience.
• Provide constructive feedback and individualized coaching to students.
• Available to teach classes Monday through Friday, day or evening classes.
• Strong organizational, documentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong work ethic, tenacity, self-motivation and problem solving abilities.
• Serve as a role model and mentor for students entering the commercial transportation industry.

Responsibilities

• Lead classroom instruction, yard practices, and road driving training.
• Introduce safety concepts and regulations, defensive driving and safe driving techniques.
• Maintain proper and accurate student records and documentation, including attendance and progress reports.
• Monitor student progress and provide remedial instruction as necessary.
• Maintain a professional, respectful learning environment.
• Liaise with third-party testers as needed.
