Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat is seeking an experienced CDL driver to support the transportation department. The role involves operating a range of vehicles including forklifts and box trucks to move diverse loads across shipyard and off-site locations, including snow removal and material scanning tasks.

Requirement includes CDL Class B or higher with air brake endorsement; ability to obtain a TLD with training and willingness to work all shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or 2+ years of related technical experience.
• 5+ years of driving or warehouse experience.
• Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class B or Higher.
• Air brake endorsement.
• Ability to obtain a TLD with training.
• Ability to work all shifts based on business needs.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts, stake trucks, vans, tanker trucks, and box type trucks.
• Pick up, deliver and move large diverse loads within the shipyard, at off-site locations, at the sub base, and on public highways.
• Participate in snow removal efforts and hand sorting; material scanning to receive/dispatch deliveries.
• Deliver carriable and palletized material from various warehouses and offices.
• Work in unheated environments and adhere to procedural compliance.
• Qualification for a TLD training as required.
