Job summary

Waste Management in Port Charlotte, FL, is hiring a CDL driver to operate heavy-duty trucks for waste/recycle collection across residential and commercial routes. You will perform pre-trip inspections and ensure safety compliance throughout daily operations.

Minimum education is High School/GED. Candidates must hold CDL Class A or B with air-brake endorsement, be 18+, speak English, and pass drug screening and physical. Training and growth opportunities are provided.

Qualifications

• CDL required with air-brake endorsement.
• 1 year operating a vehicle requiring a CDL or 1 year equivalent military driving in the last 7 years.
• Must be 18+ and legally eligible to work in the U.S.
• Able to read, write and speak English well enough to interact with the public and complete reports.
• Pre-employment drug screen and physical required.

Responsibilities

• Operate vehicles per safety rules and DOT requirements.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections and document checks.
• Report safety issues to the Operations Manager or Dispatch.
• Attend training and contribute to route efficiency.
• Complete end-of-day documentation and checkout.
