Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL license, a clean driving record and a valid DOT Medical Card.
• Willingness to work various shifts including days, nights and weekends.
• Ability to follow written, oral or diagrammed instructions and ensure safety and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Drives trucks with capacities greater than 26,000 pounds, including tractor-trailer combinations.
• Checks vehicle to ensure tires, mechanical, safety and emergency equipment are in good working order.
• Reports vehicle or trailer defects, accidents, traffic violations or damage to vehicle.
• Gathers delivery information, job name, job number and contact.
• Verifies routes and permits when applicable.
• Secures cargo for transport using ropes, straps, blocks, chains, binders or covers.
• Maintains driving logs of working hours of vehicle service following applicable state and federal regulations.
• Performs basic vehicle maintenance tasks and minor repairs.
• Maneuvers truck into loading and unloading positions and follows signals from loading crew.
