Job summary

Commercial Metals Company in Lexington, SC is seeking a driver to deliver products to customers and jobsites across the region. You will document weights, complete delivery paperwork, and work with production, sales, and customers.

This role requires at least 21, no DUI within five years, DOT knowledge, ability to pass a road test, and the stamina to work outdoors in all weather. We offer Day 1 benefits, PTO, 401(k) match, and career training.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• No DUI/DWI within the past five years.
• No more than 1 moving violation in the previous 3 years.
• Ability to pass a company road test.
• Driver must be knowledgeable in DOT regulations/requirements.
• Frequent physical activity and working outdoors in all weather.
• Must be able to speak and understand English.
• No on-road preventable accidents in the past 3 years as per MVR.
• Pass required DOT and CMC Logistics drug testing and physicals.

Responsibilities

• Accurately complete delivery paperwork and coordinate with production, sales and customers to communicate issues with loads and delivery times.
• Work safely by following safety rules and PPE requirements.
• Drive trucks to weigh stations and document weights while complying with state regulations.
• Ensure vehicle is properly loaded and delivered safely and timely.
• Inspect vehicle for safety or operational defects using DOT checklists and ensure emergency equipment is functional.
• Inventory and inspect goods to determine quantities and conditions.
• Set up sideboard kit around trailer perimeter and secure loads as needed.
• Maintain logs of working hours or vehicle status per regulations.
• Work a 12 hour shift, including overtime, weekends and holidays.
• Perform pre-trip, inter-trip, and post-trip inspections.
• Deliver products to customers, contractors, and jobsites within the region.
• Use Electronic Logging Devices (ELD) and be trained accordingly.
• Perform additional duties as needed.
