Job description

Richards Building Supply Co. is currently searching for a CDL Class B Driver for our Kankakee, IL location. Candidates may hold either a CDL Class A or CDL Class B license with an Air Brake Endorsement.

Semi with Moffett and/or knuckleboom/crane experience desired.

Our delivery drivers are responsible for safely delivering products to job sites, physically unloading materials as per customer requests, receiving materials in the warehouse, loading trucks, and processing inventory.

Requirements:

• At least 1 year of CDL Class B delivery driving experience or 2 years of CDL Class A driving experience.
• CDL Class B with Air Brake Endorsement or CDL Class A license.
• Experience operating Moffett and/or knuckleboom cranes is strongly preferred.
• Crane (OSHA Certified) experience highly desired.
• Ability to drive a manual transmission.
• Current DOT medical card.
• Clean driving record.
• Must be at least 23 years old.
• Heavy lifting ability to continually lift 50-100 lbs., with some tasks exceeding 100 lbs.
• Ability to pass background check and pre-employment DOT drug screen.

Responsibilities:

• Safely operate semi-trucks, including Moffett and/or knuckleboom cranes if experienced.
• Unload shingles and other materials on residential sites.
• Load trucks with materials scheduled for delivery, ensuring compliance with DOT weight and securing regulations.
• Receive merchandise at the warehouse and move materials to designated areas.
