Job summary

Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) seeks a Vehicle Driver II (Truck Driver - Laundry) based at Vernon State Hospital, Vernon, TX. You will operate heavy/medium duty trucks to transport linens between state hospitals and living centers, adhering to schedule, safety rules, and cargo handling standards.

Responsibilities include maintaining the vehicle, completing shipping records, and ensuring cargo safety.

Qualifications

• 18 months experience operating a commercial motor vehicle.
• Valid Texas driver’s license class C or higher upon hire; required certifications.
• Ability to follow safety procedures and state/federal driving laws.

Responsibilities

• Safely operates over-the-road tractor-trailer and state vehicles per rules.
• Maintains vehicle cleanliness and accurate load/documents.
• Delivers/picks up linens between state facilities per schedule.
• Follows load security procedures and completes required logs.
• Trains others and may supervise laundry workers as needed.
