Job summary

Health & Human Services Comm in Vernon, TX seeks a Vehicle Driver II for the Vernon State Hospital laundry program. The role drives a tractor-trailer/medium truck to transport cargo between state facilities, loading, unloading, and maintaining logs as required.

Qualifications

• Valid Texas driver’s license class C or higher.
• Must have, or complete upon hire, the HHSC designated Defensive Driving Course.
• Eighteen months experience in the operation of motor vehicles on a commercial basis.

Responsibilities

• Safely operates over the road tractor-trailer and any other state vehicle.
• Delivers cargo in a safe and timely manner and maintains cargo integrity.
• Performs vehicle maintenance checks and maintains required logs and records.
