Job summary

Williamsburg County Magistrate is seeking a CDL Truck Driver/Heavy Equipment Operator to join the Public Works team in New Mexico. The role requires operating a motor grader, backhoe, and other equipment for road construction and maintenance, with safety as a priority.

Responsibilities include grading, digging drainage ditches, hauling sand and debris, performing preventive maintenance, and minor repairs while following supervisor direction.

Qualifications

• Requires CDL license and 1–2 years of experience in heavy equipment operation and/or construction, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
• Requires three to five years of experience in heavy equipment operation and/or construction, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. A CDL license is required.

• Operate heavy equipment and vehicles for road maintenance and construction tasks under regular supervision.
• Perform preventive maintenance and minor repairs; ensure safety and proper use of tools and equipment.

Under regular supervision, operates heavy equipment and vehicles to perform various road maintenance and construction tasks for Williamsburg County. Uses various tools and performs manual labor to accomplish related assignments. Operates a motor grader, backhoe, and other various types of equipment to perform tasks associated with road construction and maintenance, including grading, digging drainage ditches, hauling sand and debris, etc. Performs preventive maintenance and minor repairs of equipment. Exercises care and safety when using equipment and tools required to complete assigned tasks. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Requires a CDL license and one to two years of experience in heavy equipment operation and/or construction, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
• Requires three to five years of experience in heavy equipment operation and/or construction, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. A CDL license is required.
