Job summary

Waste Management (WM) is hiring Commercial Drivers to operate heavy-duty trucks, transporting waste or recyclables to disposal, transfer, or recycling facilities. Drivers must back up with precision, navigate tight spaces, and manage residential or roll-off routes while maintaining safety and route efficiency.

Role involves vehicle inspections, adhering to safety rules, and completing end-of-day documentation.

Qualifications

• CDL Class A or B with air-brake endorsement required.
• 1 year of CDL driving experience or 1 year military driving within the last 7 years.
• Must be 18+ and legally eligible to work in the country where the position is located.
• Able to read, write, and speak English well enough to interact with the public, understand traffic signs, and complete records or reports.
• Successful complete pre-employment screening, including drug screen and physical.

Responsibilities

• Operates WM vehicle in accordance with Safety Rules, OSHA and DOT requirements.
• Performs pre- and post-trip inspections and documents checks.
• Reports unsafe situations or service-related issues to Operations Manager or Dispatch.
• Attends required training programs and meetings.
• Works with Operations Manager to improve route efficiencies and identify best practices.
• Notifies Operations Manager of incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage.
• Communicates customer requests to Operations Manager or Dispatch.
• Completely dumps all receptacles and leaves the customer location clean.
• Follows route assignments and completes end-of-day documentation and check-out.
• Assists other drivers as directed to meet customer needs.
