Job summary

Steel Technologies is hiring experienced Truck Drivers for 2nd and 3rd shifts to haul steel between locations and to customers. You will operate heavy trucks, perform safety inspections, and ensure timely deliveries with strong customer service.

The role requires a Class A CDL and two years of driving experience, preferably with steel hauling. DOT/FMCSR compliance and ability to handle loading/unloading are essential in this position.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Class A CDL and two years of driving experience, steel hauling preferred.
• Knowledge of DOT/FMCSR rules and state laws applicable to trucking.
• Able to operate a tractor-trailer for extended hours and manage loading/unloading.

Responsibilities

• Operates a truck with capacities greater than 3 tons, including tractor-trailer to transport steel.
• Performs daily vehicle inspections and monthly checklist for safety and equipment.
• Reports vehicle defects, accidents, or violations to ensure compliance.
• Maneuvers trucks into loading/unloading positions with guidance from loading crew.
• Secures cargo using ropes, chains, binders, or covers.
• Inspects material for defects before and after trips.
• Follows a predetermined pickup and delivery schedule.
