Hours: Full Time
SUMMARY
Commercial Licensed Driver (CDL) must have a basic working knowledge of construction projects and a full understanding of the operations of the trucks and trailers assigned.
DUTIES
- Adhere to the company's safety and health policy while following all safety regulations and precautions
- Operate the equipment in a safe and productive manner, always wearing the safety belt
- Adhere to DOT regulations
- Receive and follow directions from immediate supervisor in a professional manner
- Perform daily maintenance requirements on the equipment as required/requested (i.e. greasing, small repairs, etc.)
- Work together as a team to complete tasks
- Be prepared for all weather conditions (proper clothing, gloves, etc.)
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, filling out forms daily and submitting them to the dispatcher
- Avoid situations where the truck may get stuck or damaged
- Keep the inside of the truck clean
- Load truck with loader as required
- Modify speeds and driving in accordance with weather and road conditions
- Drive truck to jobs and successfully complete customer requests in a professional and timely manner
- Accurately complete work tickets with correct job numbers, lease names, load times, unload times, miles traveled, drive time, wait time, material quantities, and other required information
- Complete daily logs and submit them to the dispatcher each day
- Turn in fuel tickets and load tickets daily
- Report maintenance problems with each use until fixed
REQUIREMENTS
- Demonstrated commitment to safety as expressed in JMAC Resources corporate value People First, Safety Always
- 2 years of experience working as a Class A Truck Driver
- Valid US Issued Commercial Driver's License
- Understanding of DOT regulations
- Clean driving record
- Medical Card
- Knowledge of the operation of trucks and trailers (belly dumps, side dumps, pup) used in daily operations
- Physical ability to lift and carry 50 pounds
- Phone that can reach you at all times, day or night
- Availability to work long hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required
- Ability to work safely in all types of weather
- Ability to crawl under the truck for inspection and greasing as required
- Ability to clean material out from the box or trailer with a shovel
- Ability to lift the hood, check oil and coolant levels, and perform all other inspection functions daily
- Physically able to climb up and down loaders and other equipment in use at our pits
