Role Overview:

To remain a recognized leader, we are seeking a CDL Truck Driver that is a motivated self-starter, dependable and team-oriented to provide the best customer experience. We are looking for someone who has strong communication skills, attention to detail and time management. This position is responsible for transporting deliveries locally and/or over long distances in accordance with company guidelines and DOT regulations, provide positive Customer Service and maintain accurate recordkeeping by performing the following duties. These duties may vary to include some or all of the following job responsibilities.

Role Responsibilities:

1. Transports deliveries locally and/or over long distances according to manifest in a safe, responsible manner and in accordance with company procedures and applicable DOT regulations.
2. Coordinates efficient deliveries by applying knowledge of customer schedules, peak delivery times and alternate routes.
3. Applies knowledge and abilities to safely load and unload deliveries according to size of load and content description.
4. Processes shipment documents neatly and efficiently for each shipment and manages discrepancy documentation.
5. Obtains and maintains proper delivery authorization and pickup documentation and submits in a timely manner.
6. Provides good customer service and maintains a professional appearance to enhance the company's image.
7. Performs a daily DOT pre-trip inspection according to checklist and keeps an accurate copy in the vehicle at all times.
8. Maintains a daily, legible DOT logbook and submits as needed.
9. May be required to “tail gate” a load with a manual pallet jack, if needed. This includes pushing / pulling or turning skidded tire / wheel pallets with weights from 300 lbs. – 1500 lbs. per skid up to 15 times, per delivery rear of trailer.
10. Balances and handles an expense account for each trip by recording all expenses and maintaining all receipts.
11. Provides basic maintenance for vehicle such as maintaining vehicle in a neat manner and performing minor repairs.
12. Maintains company gas credit cards, and valid/current proof of insurance and registration in vehicle.
13. Ensures proper maintenance of vehicle and reports all accidents/damage/malfunctions to management.
14. Performs other related duties as assigned.

What Tredit Tire is looking for:

1. High school diploma, GED, or equivalent is preferred.
2. Valid Class A CDL Driver’s License - must meet insurance underwriting requirements
3. Possess a valid Medical Certification.
4. Prior DOT driving experience strongly preferred.
5. Knowledge of tire and wheel industry is desirable.
6. Must have excellent driving record and adhere to DOT regulations.
7. Excellent customer service and time management skills.
8. Proficient communication skills, both written and verbal.
9. Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
10. Ability to multi-task, prioritize and organize efficiently.
11. Ability to open doors and get inside the trailer from the ground, approximately 5 feet in height.
12. Must be able to frequently use hands and talk or hear.
13. Must be able to lift and move up to 75 pounds at times.
14. Must pass a road test administered by a senior driver of Tredit Tire, demonstrating competence and safety.
