Summary

Under the supervision of the Rogers Trucking Supervisor, the associate will be responsible for daily product movement and long-distance transportation while out of state, using company vehicles. A valid Class A endorsement and current DOT Medical Examiner’s Certificate are required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Drive Class A vehicles interstate for durations of one to two weeks, residing in the truck cab sleeper.
2. Inspect and maintain vehicle supplies and equipment, including gas, oil, water, tires, lights, and brakes.
3. Load and unload trucks, vans, or automobiles.
4. Maintain all delivery and pickup documentation.
5. Communicate via telephone with supervisors for instructions or dispatch.
6. Secure trailers with wheel chocks when docked.
7. Read maps and follow geographic directions, both written and verbal.
8. Verify inventory loads against shipping documents.
9. Keep records such as DVIR logs and HOS logs.
10. Coordinate emergency repairs, such as breakdowns or tire changes, with repair facilities.
11. Report vehicle issues, delays, or accidents to supervisors.
12. Submit receipts from trips and complete monthly credit card reports.
13. Use and maintain trailer tools and equipment, including hand trucks and lift gates.
14. Obtain a Forklift Operator’s permit through training, performance, and testing.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required. Must hold a valid Class A endorsement. Ability to read, analyze, and communicate effectively in English. Capable of solving practical problems.

Physical Requirements

Must maintain an approved DOT Medical Examiner’s Certificate. Physical demands include standing, walking, bending, lifting items up to 50 lbs (occasionally 75 lbs, rarely 100 lbs), and color recognition.
