Job summary

Southway Crane & Rigging, Inc. in Atlanta, GA, is seeking an experienced CDL Truck Driver to join our branch team. You will be responsible for load and unload cargo, delivering goods, maintaining logs, fueling, and keeping the vehicle in good working order.

Candidates must have a current Class A CDL with no automatic endorsement and at least 3 years of commercial driving experience; background check, drug test, and on-site skills verification are required for hire.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of commercial driving experience.
• Current state issued Class A CDL Driver's License (No Automatic Endorsement).

Responsibilities

• Load and unload cargo.
• Record amount and type of cargo being delivered.
• Take orders for new deliveries and drive long distances.
• Fill up on fuel, clean truck, and wash windows.
• Report to a dispatcher any incidents encountered on the road.
• Monitor road conditions and watch for traffic congestion.
• Follow all applicable traffic laws.
• Inspect trailer before and after the trip and record defects.
• Follow accident procedures if an accident occurs.
• Keep a log of activities.
• Report serious mechanical problems to appropriate personnel.
• Keep their truck and equipment clean and in good working order

Summary:

Candidate must possess a minimum of 3 years of experience. You must be able to pass a background check and drug test. All candidates will perform a skills verification test on site before hire.

• Hearing sufficient for telephone contact and interpersonal communication with Customers and coworkers.
