Job summary

Emery Sapp & Sons, Inc. in Missouri is seeking a CDL Trainer to coach employee-owners through hands-on, behind-the-wheel and yard training so they earn their Commercial Driver's License and operate ESS trucks safely and in compliance.

You will ride along, demonstrate, correct, and document progress while supporting the CDL Instructor, prep trainees for the state test, and help grow our own drivers within a safety‑first culture.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL with clean driving record.
• Minimum of 2 years verifiable Class A driving experience.
• Current DOT medical card and ability to pass DOT testing.
• Thorough working knowledge of FMCSA regulations and hours of service.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Basic computer skills for recordkeeping.

Responsibilities

• Deliver behind-the-wheel and range training per curriculum.
• Coach inspections, vehicle control, and on-road techniques.
• Record training hours and progress in logs and ELDT records.
• Assist with scheduling, test logistics, and new-hire orientation.
