Job summary

Shirley Contracting Company is seeking a Fuel Truck Driver to join our team in Virginia. The role involves safely operating a heavy-duty truck, refueling heavy equipment, and performing daily DOT-required inspections. Candidates should have Class B CDL with Tanker and HAZMAT endorsements and a clean driving record.

Pre-employment DOT physical and background checks are required. Starting shift at 6:00 AM with overtime and weekend requirements.

Qualifications

• Qualifications: Class B CDL Tanker and HAZMAT endorsements.
• Manual Transmission, preferred.
• Clean Driving Record (No major traffic violations, tickets or accidents for the last 7 years).
• Must pass pre-employment DOT physical/drug screening.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds unassisted on a regular basis.
• Ability to pass background checks for secure facility access.

Responsibilities

• Know DOT rules, regulations, and guidelines.
• Complete daily pre- and post-trip inspection and maintain inspection reports.
• Maintain daily mileage and fuel dispense logs.
• Safely operate commercial vehicle in traffic, construction sites, and tight areas across Virginia.
• Refuel heavy equipment using diesel fuel.
• Greasing of heavy equipment wear parts and grease fittings.
• Top-off fluids as needed.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and appearance.
• Support Health and Safety policies and positive coworker relations.
