Job summary

The Apex Waste Solutions team in Steamboat Springs, CO is seeking a CDL Commercial Swing Driver to safely operate residential, commercial, and roll-off equipment. This full-time role fills in for vacations and peak periods while delivering reliable service across multiple routes.

The ideal candidate holds a valid CDL with air brake endorsement, a current DOT card, and a clean MVR, with a strong focus on safety and customer service.

Qualifications

• Valid CDL Class A or B with air brake endorsement.
• Current DOT Medical Card.
• Acceptable MVR with clean driving record.
• Safe operation of commercial vehicles.
• Route adaptability and flexibility.
• Mechanical awareness and basic troubleshooting.
• Ability to learn new routes quickly.

• Experience in waste industry and operating multiple vehicle types.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate residential front-load, rear-load, automated side-load, commercial front-load, and roll-off vehicles.
• Perform daily route assignments based on needs for residential, commercial, and roll-off services.
• Provide coverage for driver absences, vacations, open routes, and peak periods.
• Travel between Parker and Denver North facilities as needed to support operations.
• Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections and document any defects.
• Operate equipment in compliance with DOT regulations and safety policies.
• Deliver exceptional customer service with a professional attitude.
• Navigate residential neighborhoods, commercial properties, construction sites, and industrial locations safely.
• Ensure waste collection is efficient with minimal property damage.
• Complete route paperwork, logs, and service documentation accurately.
• Report safety concerns, vehicle issues, accidents, and customer concerns promptly.
• Assist with route training and operational support when requested.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support daily operations.
