Job summary

Gateway Community & Technical College in Fort Wright, KY, seeks a CDL Staff Instructor to deliver CDL training within Workforce Solutions. This exempt, on-site role requires hands-on instruction and coordination with the team to support student success.

You will monitor student progress, ensure DOT compliance, prepare students for driving tests, and participate in recruitment and retention activities to strengthen the program and outcomes.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or equivalent; 4 years relevant experience or 8 years substituted for credential.
• Active CDL A License.
• 2 years over-the-road CDL driving or 2 years instructing experience.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver CDL training to students and monitor progress.
• Ensure compliance with federal/state DOT requirements and testing preparation.
• Coordinate with team to organize classroom, range, and on-the-road training.
• Evaluate learning outcomes and student completion.
• Support recruitment events and student retention activities.
• Participate in team planning meetings.
