Job summary

Georgia Fugees Academy Charter School seeks a School Bus Driver to safely operate a 72-passenger bus for 6th-12th grade students. You will pick up and drop off passengers, assist riders with special needs, and ensure on-time arrivals while following school policies.

Eligibility includes a valid CDL with P and S endorsements and a clean driving record. This 10-month, non-exempt role offers benefits and opportunities to contribute to student success.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of proven work experience as a school bus driver.
• Clean driving record with no at-fault accidents or traffic citations within the last 5 years.
• Commercial Driver’s License with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements.
• High school diploma required.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate the bus, ensuring passenger safety and obeying traffic laws.
• Pick up passengers at designated stops and transport to destinations, assisting passengers with disabilities or special needs.
• Adhere to schedules and adjust routes to maintain on-time performance.
• Maintain cleanliness and report any mechanical issues before each shift.
• Comply with regulations for driving a commercial vehicle and school policies.
• Maintain route records such as mileage, fuel use, and passenger counts.
• In emergencies, secure safety of passengers and contact authorities.
• Stay updated on routes and new traffic regulations.
