Job summary

Hotard Shuttle is seeking a Safety Trainer in Port Arthur, TX. The role focuses on planning, organizing, and delivering training programs for drivers to meet legal and company standards.

It includes classroom sessions, behind-the-wheel instructions, and ongoing driver assessments to ensure safety and licensing readiness. Responsibilities include DOT compliance training, record-keeping, and supporting driver development, with a Sunday-Thursday schedule.

Qualifications

• CDL Class A or B with passenger endorsement and air brakes certification is required.
• Minimum 2 years' total experience with CDL (A or B).
• Minimum 1 year operating vehicle ‘in-type’ in a similar role.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, and deliver engaging driver training programs meeting legal and company standards.
• Facilitate classroom sessions with visuals, print materials, video content, and discussions.
• Provide hands-on behind-the-wheel instruction to reinforce learning and safe driving.
• Train on pre-trip and post-trip inspections with emphasis on safety and accuracy.
• Instruct on duties including customer service, driving conduct, defensive driving, and ELD usage.
• Deliver training on DOT compliance, safety policies, and hours-of-service procedures.
• Maintain training records per company and regulatory requirements.
• Support driver development and promote safety culture and excellence.
• Administer pre-employment road tests and conduct driver evaluations.
