Job summary

Recology King County is seeking a Driver - Residential Extra to operate assigned vehicles with accountability for safety and efficient service to local communities. You will perform daily safety checks, follow procedures, and maintain strong customer relations across all service areas.

Under limited supervision, you will load materials, ensure compliance with load limits, report accidents or safety violations promptly, and support a positive company image in the community.

Qualifications

• Six months of commercial driving experience required.
• Principles and practices of job site safety, potential job hazards, and state and local regulations including applicable waste regulation.
• Basic computer programs.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Valid Class A or B Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Performs daily routine safety checks and pre-trip inspections on assigned vehicle.
• Ensures all safety measures appropriate for the operation of assigned vehicles are consistently and efficiently applied.
• Operates vehicles in all assigned service areas in a timely and efficient manner.
• Loads all assigned materials according to normal operating procedures and reports any violations to the supervisor.
• Ensures hazardous materials are not accepted, as able.
• Assures materials being transported comply with the legal load limits.
• Report all accidents and/or safety violations to the appropriate authority and in a timely manner.
• Maintain support of good customer relations and positively influence the community’s perception of the Company throughout all applicable service areas.
• Other duties as assigned.

We are looking for Industrial Athletes that can walk a half-marathon per day in all weather to service local communities.

Under limited supervision, accountable for the efficient and effective operation of assigned vehicles, the consistent application of safety and operational procedures, and maintenance of good customer relations throughout all applicable service areas.

Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to qualify is:
