Job summary

Recology King County Broadway Yard in Washington is seeking an Industrial Driver to service local communities, performing pre-trip inspections, and maintaining safety and good customer relations.

Under limited supervision, you will operate Class A or B vehicles, load materials following procedures, ensure load limits and hazardous materials rules, report incidents, and participate in a collaborative, employee-owned culture.

Qualifications

• Six months of commercial driving experience required.
• Principles and practices of job site safety, potential hazards, and regulations.
• Basic computer programs.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily routine safety checks and pre-trip inspections on the assigned vehicle.
• Ensure safety measures for vehicle operation are consistently applied.
• Operate vehicles in assigned service areas promptly and efficiently.
• Load materials according to procedures and report violations to the supervisor.
• Ensure hazardous materials are not accepted, as able.
• Confirm materials transported comply with legal load limits.
• Report accidents and safety violations to the appropriate authority promptly.
• Maintain good customer relations and positively influence community perception of Recology.

Location: 1161 - Recology King County - Broadway Yard

We are looking for Industrial Athletes that can walk a half-marathon per day in all weather to service local communities.

Under limited supervision, accountable for the efficient and effective operation of assigned vehicles, the consistent application of safety and operational procedures, and maintenance of good customer relations throughout all applicable service areas.

• Performs daily routine safety checks and pre-trip inspections on assigned vehicle.
• Ensures all safety measures appropriate for the operation of assigned vehicles are consistently and efficiently applied.
• Operates vehicles in all assigned service areas in a timely and efficient manner.
• Loads all assigned materials according to normal operating procedures and reports any violations to the supervisor.
• Ensures hazardous materials are not accepted, as able.
• Assures materials being transported comply with the legal load limits.
• Report all accidents and/or safety violations to the appropriate authority and in a timely manner.
• Maintain support of good customer relations and positively influence the community’s perception of the Company throughout all applicable service areas.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to qualify is:

• Six months of commercial driving experience required.
• Principles and practices of job site safety, potential job hazards, and state and local regulations including applicable waste regulation.
• Basic computer programs.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Valid Class A or B Driver's License.
