Qualifications

• Must have a Class A or B CDL valid for the state in which the position works, with a clean driving record.
• Must be at least 21 years of age or older.
• Understand refuse collection policies and DOT/state requirements for commercial motor vehicles.
• Able to hear in the normal audio range with or without correction and see in the normal visual range with or without correction.
• Able to drive various refuse trucks and follow a designated route or work schedule.
• Must be able to speak and read English well enough to communicate with customers, co-workers, dispatch and supervisors.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate refuse trucks on established residential routes following safe driving principles.
• Collect and transport garbage, recycling, and yard waste within assigned service areas.
• Dispose of collected waste at landfills or transfer stations.
• Deliver a high level of customer service and maintain professionalism with customers and the public.
• Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections and complete required DVIR/Safety Lane documentation.
• Maintain a clean vehicle and assist with route safety and compliance.
• Prepare and submit required company and regulatory reports; follow DOT/state regulations.
