Job summary

Western States Equipment seeks a dedicated CDL Class A driver to deliver and service rental equipment across the region. You will operate heavy trucks, inspect equipment, and ensure safe handling and transport to customers.

Responsibilities include route planning, DOT log maintenance, and customer instruction on proper use and safety procedures, while maintaining a professional image and supporting service tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of CAT and other construction equipment brands.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and compliance.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office or similar systems.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and meet OT needs.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and pick up rental equipment using Class 8 truck up to 70,000 lbs.
• Load/unload equipment onto trailers with proper safety practices.
• Plan routes based on load, road, and traffic conditions.
• Maintain electronic Driver’s Logbook per DOT requirements.
• Operate multiple equipment brands (CAT, Genie, JLG, GME, etc.).
• Follow DOT rules and maintain current CDL.
• Instruct customers on equipment use and safety procedures.
• Report damages and issues to Rental Coordinators promptly.
• Document dispatch details via tablet/phone and photos.
• Support CRS service tasks as needed.
• Report delays due to breakdowns or incidents promptly.
