Job summary

Western States Equipment Company is hiring a CDL Class A driver to support rental operations in the Idaho region. You will deliver and pickup heavy equipment, ensure safety, and maintain records per DOT requirements.

The role requires at least six months of over-the-road tractor-trailer experience and a clean driving record. You will work with CAT Rental Store brands and other equipment, communicating effectively with rental coordinators, customers, and technicians.

Qualifications

• Proof of high school diploma or GED.
• Valid Class A CDL with excellent driving record and DOT physical card.
• Minimum of six months commercial driving experience with over the road tractor & trailer.
• Must be able to communicate in English.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and pick up rental equipment using a Class 8 truck up to 70,000 lbs.
• Load/unload equipment onto trailer following safety policies.
• Determine efficient routes based on load, road, and traffic.
• Maintain electronic Driver's Logbook per DOT.
• Operate multiple brands of equipment (CAT, Genie, JLG, etc.).
• Follow DOT rules for oversize loads and permits; maintain CDL.
• Inspect equipment and report damages to Rental Coordinators.
• Communicate equipment issues to Lead Technician for timely resolution.
• Use company tablet/phone for dispatch info and documentation.
• Assist on service tasks for CRS as needed.
