Rumpke Waste & Recycling in Kentucky is seeking a Rear Load Truck Driver to service customers and operate waste collection routes. You will perform pre/post trip inspections, load and unload containers, and maintain truck cleanliness while delivering safe, reliable service.

The role requires a valid Class B CDL, strong route navigation, and excellent customer communication; overtime and night shifts may apply.

Qualifications

• Excellent truck driving and maneuvering skills.
• Must be able to read, speak, and understand English well.

Responsabilités

• Provide trash or recycling removal services to customers in a safe and compliant way by emptying containers into the truck and hauling to disposal site.
• Routinely enter/exit the truck approximately 300-600 times per day, depending on route.
• Pull or push containers from enclosures or inside buildings as needed.
• Replace trash/recycling receptacles neatly at the curb or designated area.
• Clean up waste spills and overflows.
• Maintain and update route and driver logs.
• Conduct pre-trip/post-trip inspections and complete logs.
• Professionally interact with internal and external customers, providing excellent customer service.
• Clean waste from the packer blade and truck body and ensure cleanliness of truck cab.
• Deliver trash or recycling containers as needed.
• Manually load bulk items as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness of assigned truck.
• Operate other types of trucks as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Rear Load Truck Drivers are responsible for servicing customers with the collection and hauling of waste or recycling materials to a disposal site or recycling plant. Rear Load Truck Drivers will service many different routes in various areas.

Supervisory Responsibility

• This position will not manage employees

Skills & Abilities Needed For Position

• Ability to read and understand a map
• Good written and verbal communication skills to be able to communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external customers
• Excellent truck driving/maneuvering skills
• Ability to drive while pulling a trailer
• Must be able to read and speak the English language well enough to communicate, understand, and respond to questions, directions, traffic signs, signals, and safety training

Experience & Knowledge Needed For Position

• General knowledge of truck mechanics preferred
• 1-2 years CDL truck driving experience preferred
• Waste industry experience preferred

Physical Requirements In a Regular Workday

• Frequently lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling a max of 75 lbs
• Rarely lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling a max of 100 lbs
• Continuously working outside in changing temperatures, wet/humid conditions
• Continuously working in areas of dust, odors, mist, gases, and other airborne matter
• Frequently stooping/kneeling/crouching/crawling
• Frequently climbing and/or balancing
• Frequently sitting/standing/walking

Additional Working Conditions/Aspects

• Must have at least a valid Class B CDL
• Must have a valid DOT Medical Card or able to obtain prior to hire
• Must have a at least 19 years of age
• No more than 3 moving violations within the last 2 years
• Must not have any DUI's or OVI's within the last 5 years or 2 in the last 10 years
• Possible exposure to high traffic conditions and/or tight driving areas
• Exposure to residential and commercial waste
• Ability to travel between offices, as required
• Ability to work flexible hours; expected to work nights and weekends as needed
• Ability to work overtime, weekends, and/or holidays
• Legally eligible to work in the United States
• Valid driver’s license (if applicable)
• Must successfully complete pre-employment testing
• Must be able to read and speak the English language
