City of Schertz seeks a Street Maintenance Worker Trainee to support the maintenance and repair of city streets, sidewalks, curbs and signage. You may assist as Worker Trainee, Worker I, or II and could lead crews as needed.

The role includes operating mowers, trucks, backhoes, loaders and other equipment, with responsibilities for safety and daily record-keeping. Must have a high school diploma or GED and a Texas Class B CDL within six months.

Qualifications

• Requires a High School Diploma or GED.
• Must have or obtain a Texas Class B CDL within 6 months of hire.
• Semi-skilled to skilled in street maintenance tasks.
• May supervise a crew and coordinate training.
• On-call duties may be required for city events.

Responsabilités

• Operates grounds keeping equipment to maintain streets, sidewalks, curbs and signage.
• Operates city trucks and trailers and maintains vehicle records.
• Excavates and back-fills trenches using hand tools.
• Operates earth moving equipment like backhoes and loaders for repairs.
• Performs inspections and assists with safety programs.
