Job summary

The City of Waco seeks an experienced worker to safely trim, maintain, and manage city trees, operate heavy equipment, and assist with general park groundskeeping. This role requires a CDL Class B within 180 days, a high school diploma or GED, and at least two years of landscaping or related experience.

Under supervision, you will operate heavy equipment, maintain facilities, and support safety programs. The position may involve after-hours work for special events or emergency response.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• 2 years of landscaping/grounds keeping or construction experience.
• CDL Class B license within 180 days.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain heavy equipment and tools for parks maintenance.
• Prune, trim, and remove trees; maintain grounds, mowing, planting, irrigation as needed.
• Inspect and repair restrooms, playgrounds, courts, and facilities; assist with events.
• Follow safety rules, use PPE, and report hazards; support training of new staff.
