Job summary

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, through PennDOT, is seeking a CDL Operator to support Northumberland County road maintenance. You will operate equipment, perform snow removal, and assist with construction tasks to keep highways and bridges safe for the public.

The role requires active CDL with appropriate endorsements, a Medical Examiner’s Certificate, and ongoing certifications. Work hours are daytime, with travel and overtime as needed, under a structured state employee program.

Qualifications

• Active Pennsylvania Class A or B CDL with Air Brake restriction removed.
• Medical Examiner's Certificate required under FMCSA.
• Tank Vehicle Endorsement (N) required during probation.
• Ability to operate equipment with manual transmission.

Responsibilities

• Snow removal and plowing to clear roadways during winter.
• Support construction sites to maintain county roads and bridges.
• Perform minor repairs and preventive maintenance on trucks and equipment.
• Follow safety procedures and remain alert to hazards while working.
