Job summary

Children's National Hospital in Washington, DC is seeking a PRN Mobile Driver to transport staff and supplies between designated sites. The role covers day shifts, with some Saturdays, and requires a valid Class A CDL with air brakes endorsement.

The driver will prep the Mobile Unit, perform basic maintenance, maintain logs, and ensure safety of staff and vehicle at each site. Prior related experience and a high school diploma are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED (Required).
• 3 years related experience (Required).
• Basic vehicle maintenance and operation.
• Must possess excellent oral and communication skills and exemplary customer service.
• Must maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
• CDL with endorsement to include large buses with air brakes (Required).

Responsibilities

• Vehicle Transport and Maintenance.
• Transport staff to and from Children’s designated sites to treatment sites.
• Prepare Mobile Unit for departure to and from sites including completion of pre-trip and post-trip check lists.
• Ensure staff and vehicle safety at sites.
• Ensure Mobile Unit receives mechanical services and preventive maintenance as needed.
• Responsible for minor maintenance of the Mobile Unit upkeep and general mechanical service, including refueling and fluid checks.
• Maintain Mobile Unit logs (maintenance, service, fuel, miles, etc.).
• Transfer supplies between Mobile Unit and office.
• Assist with loading and unloading supplies onto Mobile Unit.
