Job summary

ECM Transport LLC is seeking a skilled CDL Class A instructor to mentor students in safety skills and industry best practices. This full-time position offers a standard Monday–Friday schedule, with no weekend work.

Key responsibilities include demonstrating driving operations, supervising trainees, and providing in-person instruction. Qualifications

Job description

Are you a skilled CDL Class A driver who is ready to take your driving knowledge to the next level? We have an opportunity for a CDL instructor which will allow you to mentor students by teaching them safety skills and best practices of the trucking industry. If so, we want you to join our team!

Job Responsibilities

• Demonstrate assigned driving operations for students on a regular basis.
• Oversee safe operation and use of equipment when being used by students, ensuring company policy and standards are adhered to.
• Supervise all assigned trainees and complete necessary documentation for each person, such as student attendance forms and training records.
• Provide in‑person daily instruction to students in Full Pre‑Trip Inspection, Basic Control Skills, and Road Driving.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License with no more than two moving violations in a 12‑month period, or no more than three violations in a 24‑month period.
• Minimum 3 years over‑the‑road or local commercial driving experience, or meet criteria required for instructor licensure within applicable jurisdiction.
• Must pass and continuously maintain a U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) physical and an approved DOT drug test and hair follicle drug test, with agreement to random and suspicion‑based drug and alcohol screening.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Physical, intellectual, and leadership ability to deliver the company’s approved training and curriculum.
• Successful completion of new‑hire onboarding, training, and continuing education as required.
