ECM Transport LLC is looking for a qualified driving instructor in New York, NY to supervise students in driving operations. Candidates must hold a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and have at least three years of commercial driving experience.

Job Responsibilities

• Demonstrate assigned driving operations for students on a regular basis.
• Oversee the safe operation and use of equipment when being used by students, ensuring company policy and standards are adhered to.
• Supervise all assigned trainees and complete necessary documentation (attendance forms, training records).
• Provide in‑person daily instruction to students in full Pre‑Trip Inspection, Basic Control Skills and Road Driving.

Qualifications

• A valid ClassA Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with no more than two moving violations in a 12‑month period, or no more than three moving violations in a 24‑month period (records reviewed on a case‑by‑case basis).
• Minimum three years of over‑the‑road or local commercial driving experience, or meet all criteria required to obtain instructor licensure in the applicable jurisdiction.
• Pass and continuously maintain a U.S. DOT physical, pass an approved DOT drug test, hair follicle drug test, and agree to random and suspicion‑based drug and alcohol screening.
• Effective communication skills (verbal and non‑verbal/written).
• Physical, intellectual and leadership ability to deliver the company’s approved training and curriculum in classroom, full pre‑trip inspection, basic control skills and road driving.
• Successfully complete all required new hire onboarding and training, and continuing education as required by the company.
