Job summary

SAGE Truck Driving School is seeking skilled CDL driving instructors to train the next generation of truck drivers. The role emphasizes hands-on teaching, safety, and adherence to interstate trucking regulations.

Requirements include a Class A CDL, at least 2 years of trucking experience, and a clean driving record as determined by SAGE Safety. The position offers health benefits, paid vacations, holidays, a 401K with company match, and life/disability coverage.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL License.
• Minimum two (2) years of practical trucking related experience that demonstrates instructional competency.
• A safe CDL A driving record as determined by the SAGE Safety Department.
• Knowledge/Skill: Demonstrated knowledge of the principles and practices of safe truck driving and all of the laws and regulations covering tractor-trailer interstate operations.
• Attitude: Driving instructors/teachers must show an attitude that is favorable toward performance, professionalism, respect, motivation, maturity, and safety.
• Regulatory Compliance: Meet the minimum qualifications for interstate tractor-trailer drivers per FMCSA requirements, including passing a DOT drug/alcohol screen.

• Driving instructors must communicate instructions to students, assess student performance, and provide guidance on performing maneuvers on a skills driving range and in the truck on roads in 4 to 12 hour shifts.
