Job summary

State of Colorado's CDOT Lamar office seeks a Highway Maintenance Specialist to plow snow, operate heavy equipment, and maintain roadways. You will support safety and efficiency on Colorado highways while working in a team in a dynamic outdoor environment.

Applicants must already hold a CDL Permit and will obtain CDL Class A or B within 6 months of hire, with pre-employment DOT testing. Training, overtime, and a strong benefits package are provided.

Qualifications

• Must have at least two (2) years of physical labor and/or heavy equipment operation experience.
• Must obtain and maintain a CDL Class A or B within 6 months of hire.
• Willingness to work outdoors and in varying conditions.

Responsibilities

• Plowing snow and performing heavy equipment operations as needed.
• Mowing grass, removing debris, and maintaining roadways.
• Installing and repairing guardrails, signs, and pavement markings.
• Responding to emergencies and working on-call during weather events.
