MasTec Communications Group is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to support all phases of telecom construction. You will operate backhoes, trenchers, hydraulic reel trailers and related machinery, while prioritizing safety and quality on every job.

This full-time position offers $23–$30 per hour, a comprehensive benefits package, and opportunities for long-term projects. If you’re hands-on, dependable, and willing to travel or participate in on-call rotations, MasTec wants to talk.

Qualifications

• You have experience operating heavy equipment on a construction site.
• You have a valid driver's license and the ability to obtain a DOT med card for driving purposes (CDL required; applicants are subject to an MVR review, and must meet company standards for a safe driving record).
• Occasional travel may be required, along with participation in an on-call rotation and occasional night work.

Responsibilities

• Operate light construction equipment, including backhoes, cable plows, trenchers, hydraulic reel trailers, other types of machinery, and ensure maintenance of these as required.
• Troubleshoot problems as they arise in the field.
• Read and understand utility locates and above-ground utility indicators to ensure the safety of the crew and a high level of productivity.
