Job summary

Airgas in San Jose, CA is seeking a Local Delivery Driver (CDL with Hazmat) to safely deliver compressed gas cylinders to local customers. You will operate from an Airgas branch, load and unload cylinders, and maintain accurate delivery records.

The role requires a CDL with Hazmat and Airbrake endorsements, ability to lift 75 lbs, and a commitment to safety. This on-site position offers competitive pay, benefits, and a Monday–Friday daytime schedule.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL or Class B CDL with HazMat & Airbrake endorsements.
• Hazmat endorsement required; candidates without current HAZMAT will not be considered.
• One year of CDL driving experience in the last five years, or proof of trucking school completion within the last 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Safely load, deliver, and unload cylinders containing compressed gases to customer locations.
• Accurately record deliveries and pick-ups on a load manifest and obtain customer signatures.
• Collect empty, rejected, or unsold cylinders and return them to a plant or branch for refilling.
• Adhere to Airgas safety standards (SAFECOR) and government regulations (DOT, EPA, FMCSA, FDA, OSHA).
• Provide assistance in the warehouse or on the dock as needed.
