Heritage Pool Supply - Garden City is hiring a CDL Driver with Hazmat endorsement to deliver products locally with possible overnight trips. You will follow DOT and FMCSA rules, inspect vehicles, and ensure safe, timely deliveries.

The position requires a Class A or B CDL, Hazmat endorsement, and a clean driving record, with physical ability to lift up to 100 pounds. Compensation is hourly with benefits and weekly pay.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Follow DOT rules and maintain a clean driving record for safe operation of company vehicles.
• Comply with federal and state regulations for hazardous materials transport.
• Inspect vehicles before and after trips for safety and timeliness of deliveries.
• Load, unload, and secure orders; keep hazardous materials separated.
• Follow FMCSA regulations and maintain accurate records of deliveries.
• Verify routes and inventory to minimize errors and improve customer satisfaction.
• Enhance job site safety by reporting hazards and ensuring safe operations.
• Document deliveries, vehicle inspections, and receipts as required.

Heritage Pool Supply - Garden City

The CDL Driver - Hazmat (Class A or B) is responsible for safely operating commercial vehicles to deliver products to customer locations or job sites, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries while following all DOT regulations. Local deliveries with potential overnight deliveries on a weekly basis.

Key Responsibilities

• Follow all DOT (Department of Transportation) rules and maintain a clean driving record to make sure company vehicles are operated safely and responsibly.
• Comply with all federal and state regulations regarding transportation of hazardous materials
• Inspect vehicles before and after trips to help ensure safe and on-time deliveries
• Load, unload, and organize orders carefully ensuring that all products are properly secured, and hazardous material is separated appropriately.
• Understand and adhere to FMCSA regulations
• Double-check purchase orders and delivery tickets to confirm routes and inventory, helping reduce errors and improve customer satisfaction.
• Support job site safety by checking for and reporting any potential hazards, to help prevent accidents and protect people and property.
• Take photos of all delivered products as required by company policy.
• Keep accurate records of deliveries, vehicle inspections, and receipts.
• Local deliveries with potential overnight deliveries on a weekly basis.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and handle freight/materials up to 100 pounds throughout the workday.
• The job involves consistent physical activity, including bending, crouching, and prolonged seating and standing.
• Must meet DOT medical certification standards to operate vehicles safely.

Working Conditions

• Work performed in a warehouse environment in conditions like noise, hot or cold temperatures.
• Driving in varied weather and traffic conditions.
• Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) will be required.

Minimum Qualifications

• Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
• HAZMAT Endorsement
• Current DOT Medical Certification
• Completion of FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) Registration
• Ability to continuously lift and handle freight/materials up to 100 pounds.
• A clean driving record (no hit & runs and no DWI/DUI in the last 18 months)
• Knowledge of FMCSA regulations and DOT compliance and OSHA safety regulations
• Basic computer skills to record deliveries and track inventory on a computer or tablet
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Able to pass background, driving and drug screening
