Job summary

The City of Stevens Point is seeking a Fleet Maintenance position to service and repair city vehicles and equipment, including light, medium, and heavy trucks, buses, and emergency vehicles.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting, assigning work orders, maintaining tools, and adhering to safety policies. Class B CDL with air brake and passenger endorsements is required. A High School Diploma or GED is required; additional fleet maintenance schooling is desirable.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
• Technical schooling in fleet maintenance is desirable.
• Ability to read, write, and follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots and inspects city equipment/vehicles for fleet maintenance requirements.
• Prepares work orders and documents work completed.
• Performs repairs and upkeep on sedans, light, medium, and heavy duty trucks, construction equipment, buses, emergency vehicles.
• Attends service schools and training to stay updated on best practices.
• Work safely and follow all safety policies.
• May assist or substitute in other department responsibilities as needed.
