Job summary

Aims Community College seeks an experienced CDL instructor to train students in trucking and driving, ensuring compliance with CMV regulations. You will collaborate with CDL testers and assess readiness across varied learner backgrounds.

The role requires CDL expertise, a valid DOT medical card, and the ability to operate in all weather conditions. Weekday and weekend classes are expected, with on-site duties.

Qualifications

• Hold a CDL of the same (or higher) class with all endorsements to operate the CMV.
• Two years driving CMV experience or two years as a BTW CMV instructor.
• Valid/non-expired DOT Medical Card/Certification is required.
• Ability to pass initial and required random 11-panel drug screens.
• Pre-employment post-offer physical exam will be required.
• Ability to stand on pavement for extended periods in all weather.

Responsibilities

• Train students in trucking/driving across all program areas.
• Maintain knowledge of state CMV regulations and compliance.
• Work with CDL testers and assess test-readiness of students.
• Serve diverse student backgrounds and adapt instructional methods.
