Job summary

XKIG is seeking an Equipment Operator with CDL in Lake City, SC. The role operates heavy equipment such as Barko, Linebacker, and Jarraff to remove branches from electrical lines. A valid driver’s license is required; CDL preferred.

The job is full-time with safety requirements, potential storm-work assignments, and travel as needed. Responsibilities include operating equipment, daily maintenance, and assisting crew members with tasks while upholding safety standards.

Qualifications

• Prior heavy equipment operating experience in electric utility vegetation management, construction, logging, landscaping, mechanical, or military industries preferred.
• Must have a High School diploma or education equivalent.
• Must be able to pass background check and drug screen.
• CDL preferred and must have a Driver’s License and CDL/DOT Medical Card for truck operation.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment to remove branches and tree material from electrical lines.
• Follow safety practices and enforce rules on site.
• Prepare equipment and materials as directed by Foreperson.
• Maintain and repair equipment and tools used in operations.
• Assist crew members and take a leadership role when required.
• Set up barriers, warning signs, and markers to protect workers and the public.
• Report mileage to Foreperson and assist in storm restoration work as needed.
