Job summary

City of Slidell seeks a maintenance worker to operate dump trucks and related equipment for water, sewer and street projects. You will support line crews, dig trenches, hoist materials and assist with traffic control.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• At least 1 year experience with dump trucks.
• Equivalent education/experience accepted.

Responsibilities

• Operate trucks up to 26,000 lbs GVW for loading, hauling and unloading materials.
• Operate dump trucks and utility trucks; use jackhammers and maintain utility systems.
• Assist line crew with digging, hoisting, repairs and traffic control as needed.
• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance; ensure PPE is worn.
