Job summary

Fort Worth ISD seeks a Coordinator II Safety & Training to oversee ELDT/CDL training for district bus drivers and to serve as a TxDOT Third Party Examiner. The role ensures compliant safety programs and accurate certification records.

Responsibilities include training drivers and attendants, developing materials, scheduling certifications, and coordinating safety initiatives. Salary range $64,909–$78,202; exempt, 244 duty days.

Qualifications

• Accredited High School diploma, GED, or Texas Certificate of High School Equivalency.
• Bachelor's degree with coursework in Business Administration or related field preferred.
• Clear and valid Texas CDL Class B drivers license with (P) passenger and (S) school bus endorsement; able to pass annual DOT physical.
• Certification or ability to obtain certification within 90 days or first available class: TXDOT CDL Third Party Examiner Designation; TEEX TAPT School Bus Driver Academy completion; TAPT Accident Investigation Course; TAPT Trainers designation.

Responsibilities

• Oversees ELDT/CDL licensing, training requirements and certification (driver licenses, DOT physicals, state certification, drug screening, etc.).
• Trainer and facilitator for new and existing school bus drivers, attendants and CDL holders for safe transport of students.
• Ensures training materials are accurate and up-to-date using virtual resources and hands-on demonstrations.
• Develops presentations and written training materials for department and district personnel.
• Recruits individuals to become school bus drivers and oversees interviewing and selection.

Education

High School diploma, GED, or Texas Certificate of High School Equivalency

Bachelor's degree with coursework in Business Administration or related field preferred
