Job summary

Dufrene Building Materials Inc. is seeking an experienced CDL Driver at our Hammond, LA location. You will deliver lumber, building materials, millworks, and other merchandise to customers and other company locations, while maintaining routes and logs.

The ideal candidate holds a valid CDL with a medical card, has navigation experience, and can plan efficient routes. This role offers full-time hours with competitive pay and benefits in a fast-paced logistics environment.

Qualifications

• Must hold valid CDL and Medical Card.
• Experience with Navigator and Moffit systems is required.
• Ability to plan efficient routes and maintain basic logs.

Responsibilities

• Plan and complete efficient daily delivery and pickup routes.
• Load delivery vehicle with parcels scheduled for delivery.
• Deliver parcels to correct addresses and obtain signatures when needed.
• Pickup parcels along route and return company items as requested.
• Maintain truck mileage and delivery records.
• Ensure vehicle maintenance needs are reported to supervisor.
• Assist in warehouse duties after routes are finished.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Join Team Dufrene!!! Full-Time Position Available

We are looking for an Experienced CDL Driver with Navigator and Moffit Experience for our Hammond location.

Drivers will delivery lumber, building materials, millworks and other merchandise to customers site and our other locations.

Duties/ Responsibilities:

• Plans and completes an efficient delivery and pick up route for the day.
• Loads delivery vehicle with parcels scheduled for delivery.
• Delivers parcels to correct addresses, obtaining signatures and proof of receipt when necessary.
• Picks up parcels along the scheduled route, including items to be returned, company orders, and other items as requested.
• Maintains basic records of truck mileage and deliveries made.
• Ensures that delivery vehicle receives basic service according to maintenance schedule; reports larger service needs and mechanical issues to supervisor.
• Assists in general warehouse duties when delivery route is completed.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Must maintain an active CDL license and Medical Card
• Ability to drive safely.
• Ability to use navigation tools such as onboard GPS, smartphone apps, and/or web-based or physical maps.
• Ability to plan delivery routes.
• Ability to maintain basic logs and records.
• Ability to carry out a series of instructions without constant supervision.
• Able to remain professional and courteous at all times.

Education and Experience:

• Valid CDL driver's license, current medical card and clean driving record.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Must be able to load and unload packages with and without dollies in various types of weather.
